Operation of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
(Technical and Operational Capacity-Building Course)
1. Introduction
The operation of water and wastewater treatment
plants is a critical component in safeguarding public health, environmental
sustainability, and efficient resource use. Treatment plant operators are
responsible for ensuring that water and wastewater are treated to regulatory
standards through safe, reliable and efficient processes.
This training course is designed to build the
technical, operational, and safety skills needed to operate and maintain both
water and wastewater treatment systems effectively. It integrates practical and
theoretical components to ensure that operators are competent and confident in
managing treatment plant operations.
